The Prince Of Touch?

No, I don’t want to!

The Window G88 is Window’s upcoming player with a fancy flash-based widget UI, much like we’ve seen in other Window products such as the revamped G85 and the G89. While the UI is, overall, nice, this 5-inch player sports a slogan that makes one wonder. On the back of the player is firmly stamped “Touch Prince” – I’m not sure whether this is the player ordering me to do something I don’t want to, or whether it’s declaring itself as the son of the King of Touch. Perhaps there’s actually a comma missing, and it’s supposed to be “Touch, Prince” – in which case, this is both the most erotic and most (or least) flattering PMP to hit the market to date!

The naming itself adds a little charm to the player as you can laugh at it’s ambiguity, as well as any colourful vibes you might be able to extract. Beyond that, the Window G88 is looking to be another solid player; the G88 is a 5-inch model with a 800×480 resolution. It’s looking to be powered by the Rockchip RK2808, consistent with the G85 new edition and their “RK-Widget 2.0″ naming scheme. That means it will handle videos of up to 720p. It will also come with some interesting pre-loaded applications, such as a piano player as well as a drawing/sketching app. Pretty cool but strike me as rather gimmicky. Right now the “less is more” aphorism comes to mind.

So go ahead, Touch Prince!
