Video: RK2818 In Action?

The above video shows the operation of an image viewer app, with all its fancy effects, on a “beta” version of Rockchip processor. One can only guess at what this chip is, but it is likely it may be the upcoming and much touted RK2818 chip, the one rumoured to run at up to 1GHz. It supports Android 2.1 and, quite frankly, looks to be breezing through the image manipulation animations. However, it is unsure in the video if they are running Android 2.1 or not. It does look suspiciously like the 1.6 version we’ve seen on RK2808-based devices, from the black top-bar to the sliding menu tab. It could be a customised version – that is yet to be known. Either way, the smoothness of operation is certainly cause for optimism. This also looks to be quite different from Rockchip’s Nova X1 prototype PMP, capable of 3D video..
