Teclast Looking To Jump On RK2816

Looks like Teclast are already on the Android-powered PMP train with a recent press release detailing their plans for what they are calling a “smart PMP” – an Android-powered player that will be based on the new and recently announced RK2816 chip. It is expected that not only Teclast will be on this, but other PMP brands as well as the market moves in the direction of losing the distinction between MID and PMP. The players based on the Rk2816 chip, in addition to supporting the Google Android OS version 1.5, will also be capable of decoding 720p videos, will have HDMI output, along with all the other standard features we’ve come to expect from PMPs.

All in all, it looks interesting but nothing mind-blowing. Where’s Android and 1080p? Certainly not on the Rk2816.
