Shogo Linux Tablet from Redstar

Japanese company Redstar have begun taking pre-orders of their in-house developed Shogo Linux tablet. The Shogo is a 10.1-inch (1024×600 screen resolution) tablet powered by the Freescale iMX-37 processor. In addition, it comes with 256MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, WiFi as well as Bluetooth connectivity with support for 3G. However, one wonders at the audience of this device. There are no app stores or anything of the like to prop up the Linux tablet, though perhaps Redstar might be planning on having a set of pre-bundled apps on the Linux. Either way, an interesting turn for the tablet market, though it is uncertain as to whether these will be available outside of Japan.
