Ainol’s 3.6-Incher: V8000HDC

Ainol have been lying low recently when we think back to a few months ago and all the releases from the V6000 series to the V9000 series. Since then Ainol releases have been sparsely peppered here and there and today they announce their mini-sized PMP, a 3.6-inch offering going by the model number V8000HDC. The V8000HDC is bowered by the Boxchip F16 AKA Sochip SC8600 chipset which means it can decode videos of “up to 768p” and, more crucially, cut swathes through 720p videos. This is not a 1080p player even though it is powered by a processor that powers other 1080p players. The screen resolution is only 480×272, but on a screen size this small that’s not such a large problem. This is not a touchscreen player – it is a button operated one. All in all, Ainol-like stylings and nothing to scream and rave about – a solid little player in a size that’s becoming increasingly popular.
