Teclast C430TH… Well Hello There!

June 29, 2010 by HS in Player Babed Out, Teclast with No Comments.

Teclast continue their long and welcome tradition of positively babing their players out and this time the Teclast C430TH gets the treatment. 'Wott?' you say, 'C430TH?' You wouldn't be the only one. Along with the standard C430 model, there is also the C430+, which has also been babed out before, as well as the C430T and C430H, both of which have received the babing out treatment, and now the C430TH. So are these women simply babing out the players, or doing more? It seems to be that the C430 series is proliferating like rabbits. Anyway, onwards! [gallery columns="4"] via iMP3

Onda VX570Touch On The Way

June 29, 2010 by HS in Onda, PMP with No Comments.

Another player is joining the ranks of the Onda "Touch" series, this time the VX570Touch, a 4.3-inch player with 720p video playback capability. Disappointingly, this player will not be able to playback 1080p HD video files, which is something we've come to expect from players in this size range nowadays. Along with that standard capability, Onda is boasting a new, stylish and "dynamic" UI, which is supposed to bring a better sense of fluidity to touchscreen operation. The standard video file formats will be supported such as RM/RMVB, MKV, AVI, FLV etc. but no news yet on whether this player will have OTG functionality. Another so-so player joining the ranks of the many so-so players in the 720p capability range, as well as the 4.3-inch size range. via iMP3

Window G85 UI Updates Made Official

June 28, 2010 by HS in PMP with No Comments.

The talk before of the Window G85 to be getting an overhaul which will include the new UI from the more recent model, the G89, has started being put out on the internet as an official announcement meaning that there is an impending release announcement on the horizon. The new UI brings a widget functionality, which allows you to drag and drop icons and various widget offerings where you like them. This means the menu becomes configurable - you can move it to the top or sides, and the widgets are able to be places around at your convenience. Certainly a step forward in giving users the customization ability of the UI that they have always wanted, but many of the widgets are superfluous for a simple PMP and one wonders if Window is buttering the same slice of bread a little too much. June 25, 2010 by HS in Other with No Comments.

That's right - 1GHz. Texus Instruments unveiled their Blaze tablet design which is by and large aimed at developers. Offered in the design is the 1GHz OMAP4 chip to power the 10-inch multi-touch display. Rounding out the generous feature bundle is HDMI video, SD card slot, USB, accelerometre, gyroscope and this is all built on a modular design that allows for more features to be added to it in the future. Certainly very cool. Those other features might be things like 3G radio, FM radio, GPS or WiFi, or even camera modules. The reference tablet offers 1GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board flash memory and it is said that developers should get this tablet by August. Hopefully them we'll see some advancement in the world of tablet apps. via Ubergizmo

Turbo T5 5-Inch MID

June 25, 2010 by HS in Tablet with No Comments.

The Turbo T5, pictured above, is a 5-inch MID that runs on Windows Mobile 6.5. The 5-inch resistive touchscreen boasts a standard 800x480 screen resolution, and the internals are comprised of a 667MHz Samsung processor (further details as yet unknown), 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a GPS receiver chip as well as WiFi and Bluetooth functionality. The MID is fairly thin, at 1.25cm, and is one of the fewer MIDs coming out of China to run on the Windows Mobile OS, rather than the more popular and more accessible Google Android OS. This MID, though at an excellent portability size, won't double as a player as it does not decode videos particularly well. Pricing and availability info to come later. via midbbs
