iRiver S100 Released In Colour Glory
iRiver are evidently taking a colourful approach to their new player release, the S100. Pictured above, you can see the emphasis on light shades of colour which I feel is a strategically sound aesthetic choice. The standard whites and blacks are starting to chip away at the consumer’s collective patience for boring designs. Taking the image above like some sort of scale, from boring to less boring, the black and white exist at extremes of boring.
Terrible kidding aside, the iRiver S100 has a 2.83-inch 240×320 TFT LCD display and will support the standard audo file formats including MP3, OGG, APE, FLAC, APE etc. and will also be able to play video files up to 720×480 resolution of file formats AVI, MP4 and WMV. The player is light at around 77 grams. All in all, an interesting player that’s boosted more so by nice colour availability. Definitely one for those concerned with more than function alone.
