Android-Based Digital Photoframe From Exemode

June 30, 2010 by HS in Android, Random with No Comments.

This digital photoframe, Exemode's latest, runs astonishingly on Android 1.5, meaning it has the potential to be so much more than a digital photoframe, but the hardware, though as yet largely unknown, may be the limiting factor to this device's versatility. The Exemode Digital Picture Frame's CPU and CPU speed has yet to be even leaked, but what is known is that the device comes with 256MB RAM, 2GB flash memory, has several USB ports, stereo speakers, WiFi, LAN as well as a server application which acts as a sort of cloud based photo service which you can give others access to so they can upload their own photographs. June 30, 2010 by HS in Android with No Comments.

Today we did a quick test on 3 browsers for Android: Opera Mini 5, Skyfire 2.1 (beta) and the default Android browser in Android version 1.5. Why 1.5 you ask? Well, we did the test on our generic Rockchip RK2808 7-inch MID, which unfortunately only runs Android version 1.5. We timed loading for a variety of sites, some image-heavy, some text-heavy, and the results are in line with the expected. Opera Mini 5 takes the cake, positively leaving Skyfire and the default browser in the dust. Carry on reading for a summary of the results and some other notes. The Subjective Portion of This Test Opera Mini 5 browser took longer than both the default Android browser and Skyfire to load up. Skyfire took longer than the default Android browser, and was only marginally quicker loading

Phecda P7 MID Running Android 2.1

June 30, 2010 by HS in Android, Tablet with No Comments.

Chinese manufacturer Phecda have unveiled one of their new Android MIDs/tablets, the P7, Telechips TCC8901 powered. The 7-inch resistive touchscreen (at 800x480 resolution) is backed by the aforementioned TCC8901 chip, 256MB ROM, 4GB on-board storage, a 1300mAh battery (slightly underwhelming). It has the capability to play 1080p videos, has an HDMI port. However, the real star of the feature list is the Android 2.1 OS, which is certainly something special as most Android-based MIDs and tablets coming out of the Chinese market run either Android 1.5 or 1.6. This machine is supposed to make its debut in October. via Shanzhaiben ClonedinChina
