Another 5-Incher: KSD V9P

May 27, 2010 by HS in PMP with No Comments.

It seems that with each passing week model after model from brand after brand is announced, pressed-out and photographed. This evening it is the KSD V9P - part of the KSD V-Series of HD players. The KSD V9P player is a 5-inch player with a screen resolution of 800x472 capable of up to 1280p video playback (1920x1280) - the hallmark of Sochip SC9800 chip characterised by the ability to play 1280p videos. The video file format support, therefore, is expected to be strong including MKV, AVI, MP4, WMV, MPG, VOB, FLV etc. The standard array of audio file formats and image/TXT file formats are present, along with a battery of 1500mAh that supposedly allows for up to 15 hours of video playback... but not at 1280p, I'll tell you. All in all this is another player that uses the Sochip SC9800 -

TESO iPad Clone: J-10 Pro

May 27, 2010 by HS in Other, Tablet with No Comments.

This TESO J-10 Pro iPad clone tablet PC comes with an Intel Atom N455 processor clocked at 1.66GHz, a 10-inch 1366x768 touchscreen with multi-touch support. The resolution on the screen really is quite nice and high, as we've heard from 8-inch + devices that still come with lowly resolutions which is disheartening. The J-1o Pro will apparently also come bundled with a 160GB hard drive which is surprising news for a clone. It will feature 1GB of DDR3 RAM clocked at 800/1066/1333 MHz. This is expected to bring a RAM performance boost of around 23% which is, needless to say, extremely impressive. The J-10 Pro will also come with the standard array of WiFi, built-in customized 3G module (China Unicom 3) as well as Bluetooth as well as 3 USB2.0 ports. The device will contain a 3300mAh battery

RAmos W7 getting ready to set sail to retail stores

May 27, 2010 by Raz in Android, Ramos, Rockchip with 2 Comments.

Its been almost 6 months since when RAmos had originally planned on releasing their RK2808 powered, Android based,  W7 MID, but the long wait is all over, the first batch is packed and getting ready to set sail to a retail store near you, near you meaning somewhere in China. Check out the juicy picture we have in store for you after the jump. Ok i lied, its not that juicy, but it does confirm that the W7 is going to be hitting retail shops in China in the next few days. The 8GB will retail for RMB$999, about USD$147, this is about RMB$300 cheaper than the original announced pricing. RAmos do intend to release a 16GB variant, but don't ask us when that may hit the streets. Via Forums

Mahdi M15L: M15HD Lite

May 27, 2010 by HS in PMP with 3 Comments.

Mahdi have announced a new player coming out, the M15L which is?allegedly?based on the M15HD (same internals, chip etc.) but has had several features cut in order to boast a lower market price which might never translate overseas, so that's something to consider. The features that have been cut from the M15L player are OTG functionality, FM radio functionality and the removal of the remote control functionality. Personally, these don't act as deal breakers to me. Apparently the extensive feature set of the M15HD will make a reappearance for the M15L, possibly even including the bundled Jay Chou album for you quivering fans. The M15L is a 4.3-inch player with a screen resolution of 480x272 and the aesthetics don't differ from the M15HD, down to the slim white frame and the top buttons.?

Eken M003 Upgrades M001

May 27, 2010 by HS in Other, Tablet with No Comments.

The Chinese company Eken, known previously for it's iPad clone the M001 APad has upgraded that M001 tablet PC to the M003, presumably seeing the model number M002 as not worthy, perhaps. The M003 now has an 8-inch touchscreen (as opposed to the 7-inch touchscreen that was in the M001) but the screen still has a 800x480 resolution, instead of the 1024x600 resolution we might have liked to see. The tablet runs on the Rockchip RK2808 processor, with 128MB of DDR RAM and up to 4GB of internal memory with support for expansion cards of up to 32GB. The M003 still has the standard assortment of features such as WiFi 802.11 a/b/g, has a built-win webcam (though I can't find it on the frame imaged above). The Eken M003 runs on the Android 1.5 OS and runs Google Chrome Lite browser. via Akihabara

MSI Slatebook Details Surface

May 26, 2010 by HS in Other, Tablet with No Comments.

The MSI Slatebook, which is set to be unveiled at Computex next month, will apparently be using a low-powered version of Intel's Atom processor, pointing toward the Z-series while the screen will be a 10-inch screen. The Slatebook will run on Windows 7 OS, sport the usual features of WiFi, 3G, HDMI, and is boasting an 8 hour battery life which isn't bad. The device should also come packaged with a docking station which is pretty snazzy. Looking forward to the details of this when it is unveiled. via Ubergizmo

Itoos M3HD 3.6-inch Player

May 26, 2010 by HS in Other, PMP with No Comments.

There is recent news of the Itoos M3HD 3.6-inch player which uses the Boxchip F16 which is supposedly the same as the Sochip SC8600. The player is capable of playing up to 768p videos (1360 x 768), is capable of playing the standard array of video and audio files (eg. MKV, AVI, MPG, FLC, MP3, OGG, APE, FLAC etc.) and so should make for a good sized music player and extremely portable on-the-run video player. The M3HD is similar to the Cube B33HD which was noted in the original report of the M3HD two months ago. The Sochip can hold it's own, even if it is not the illustrious SC9800 (which isn't needed on a player this size). The M3HD will also have USB OTG functionality and will hit the market starting at the 4GB flavour. via iMP3

Syncme MID618 – Can Phone Call Too

May 26, 2010 by HS in Tablet with No Comments.

Two small MIDs in just a couple of hours, but this second one boasts a screen just 4.8-inches in diametre and you begin to wonder if a device of such a size would make a good mobile internet browser - but, people get it done on phones with smaller screens. Speaking of phones, this MID also has fully functioning phone capability, so you'll be able to call and receive calls from it. Now we enter a more perilously bottomless discussion: a too-small MID or a too-big phone? Or does it exist in a kind of no-man's-land that totally voids any usefulness? The specs of the player include a 4.8-inch touchscreen at 800x480 resolution, a 667MHz Samsung 6410 processor, 256MB of RAM and 2GB ROM. The player has built-in 3G connectivity to go along with the WiFi and runs on Windows CE6.1. 6.5 has been

SinomTV MID M6A MV-560

May 26, 2010 by HS in Phone, Tablet with 1 Comment.

Another (not hugely impressive) MID is coming out of China, the SinomTV M6A MV-560 (phew) which is a 5-inch device running on the Android 1.5 OS. The device is also known as - just to add further confusion - the Enso Zenpad or the SMIT MID-560 (rebadged). The MID runs on a 667MHz Samsung processor, has 256MB of RAM and 1GB internal flash memory. The screen is a 5-inch resistive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 800x480, and that is somewhat reminiscent of many a 5-inch MP4 player. Battery life is limited though at approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes - not exactly mind blowing. You can watch a video of the rebadged iteration below to get an idea of the interface and performance. via Chinitech
