Android Reaches 50K… David or Goliath?
Recently, Android Market surpassed 50,000 number of apps, going by the AndroLib statistics. As Android gains popularity and more and more developers jump aboard the technology train, the app scene has grown at an exponential rate. It’s curious if Android can be thought of as David (instead of Goliath) when compared to the 2 billion apps available to Apple users. Perhaps it’s more of Goliath versus Goliath sort of thing.
Either way, you can expect the Android Market to continue growing and growing in size after Steve Jobs basically personally made making apps for Apple twice as difficult for reasons that, maybe, were not sound business decisions.
(There is also guaranteed a Nationite PMP running on Android in the coming months, by which time the Android Market will probably have grown another 10k.)
