Archos 7 Home Tablet – RK2808 Android Powered – Video

Archos unveiled a slew of new players at CeBit 2010, most of them are rebranded Rockchip based players, but their home tablet definitely made into their own styling, but it looks to use the same implementation of Android as we have seen on the RAmos W7, which too is a RK2808 player. Charbax from Archos Fans was able to get an exclusive hands on with the device, watch the video after break
Apart from the slightly customized version of the music interface, the Home Tablet looks to use the same Android implementation as we have seen on other RK2808. I have to give thanks to Charbax for videoing and commenting on how the RK2808 actually performs.
To clarify a few things to anyone new to this site and Chinese PMP technology:
- The processor on the Archos Home Tablet is made by Rockchip.
- The processor model is RK2808
- The processor was specifically designed for use with Android
- The Android implementation and additional programs are the same as we are seeing on Chinese RK2808 branded Android devices.
- If Archos bought the same design plans as is being used in other Chinese RK2808 players, then there should be a wolfson DAC chip present.
Archos looks to sell this 7.0″ resitive touch screen player with a 800×480 resolution for $179, that i have to say is a very good deal.
- I also want to point out, that when Charbax searches for ‘Rockchip 2808′ on google, our site is actually the first result

[...] We are very lucky to have Hinagiku over on our forums, Hinagiku has received a sample of the RAmos W7 to test out, they have posted these new images of what the current UI of the W7 looks like. To those who may not know, the RAmos W7 runs on Android and is powered by the Rockchip RK2808 processor, this is pretty much the exact same hardware and software (including custom programs), except for screen size, that Archos are using on their new budget Home Tablet. [...] Archos 8 home tablet. The above pictured device was announced at this years CeBit, along with the Archos 7 home tablet, which too runs on the same RK2808 processor. You would be right to think the above image is a [...]
Source : blog mp4Nation [...]
