Video: Nationite MIDNite Xpress using Custom UI by ColdSun

November 28, 2009 by Raz in Nationite, Video Review with No Comments.

Well we have to thank Coldsun for making such a nice program. His custom UI runs atop of the normal WinCE UI and make accessing program very easy. The UI is very easily customized and additional apps can be added. We also have ColdSun permission to have this program preloaded on the Nationite MIDNite Xpress, but just to clarify, the player will not startup with this UI, just the program will be on the player for you to use. You can find out more about this UI at Coldsuns website http://www.coldsuncreations.com Discuss on the forums

Newman’s A18HD Sleek and Nice, but we’re still not buying

November 27, 2009 by Raz in Newsmy with 1 Comment.

Newman, a company that seems to have a serious phobia for touch screens, is yet again releasing a rather nice and thin player. At its thickest point the player is only 9.8mm thick, pretty impressive consider that it has a 5.0" LTPS screen. I am assuming that this anorexic player will be using the CC1600 chipset, which mean it can handle avi movies upto 1280 x 720 resolution. Now although this looks like a good player, we're not going to get it, don't get me wrong i like CC1600 players, like our Nationite OS-72HR, but Newman has a bad habit of not releasing any firmware updates for their players, which really isn't going to cut it for us. The A18HD will is out (or will be soon) in China, no word on pricing or what memory size variations this will come in.
