Soyea's latest is the Z5 MID, a pretty solid looking device with more than passable specs.
It has a 1.2HGz Z515 processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 inch WVGA touchscreen, Windows XP/Linux option, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, WiFi and 3G.
The Z5 comes with with 8GB SSD which can be expanded via microSD. Also onboard are mini USB and VGA ports, stereo speakers, optical mouse, mouse buttons and a webcam.
While the stats are expected the shocking thing about this MID is the price, namely 5,999 yuan, a whopping $878.

Verging on the useless is this little mini mixer that allows crossfading between two players (illustrated here by the little known 'iPod').
Options do open out a little more when you consider using another source rather than two PMPs, meaning it'll work as a makeshift device allowing playback between a laptop and an MP3 player. It has audio output and a built in speaker.
At just £20 though it'll no doubt just a be a nice novelty stocking filler.

There's no limit to how much you can spend on a set of good earphones but it should probably be capped at around the $1,099 mark - to cost of these JH 13 Pro earphones.
They use six drivers, two woofers, two midrange and two tweeters and by the sounds of the reviewer's write up they sound pretty perfect. Nice if you've got the cash, I'm sure.

Following Cube's C3 USB MP3 player we reported on earlier in the week, Teclast have got their own take on the pen-drive styled players.
The X23 has a very similar design with the black and white OLED screen, directional controls but the USB part is capped rather than retracted.
Soundwise it could do the business with its use of the Rockchip RKnano and it supports MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, APE and more.
The sound is coloured using the Microsoft PlayFX system. No price or capacities have been announced.

Toted as an all over upgrade, the Newsmy A9HD is the A9's trip to high-def.
It has a 4.3 inch screen and is 11mm thick, cased in metal and offers 720P decoding.
The A9HD has missed a trick with the ommission of HDMI TV output though meaning it could get overlooked in the HD PMP battle.

The actual packaging design is simple, stark and almost utilitarian, displaying a muted graphic of cinema seats and nothing else but text and logos for the various functions.
Inside you'll find the player, a package of instructions, warranty card, cleaning cloth etc, a stand, a set of Onda branded standard earphones, a USB charging cable, a standard USB connection cable and a USB adaptor to accomodate the smaller input plug the player uses.

IRiver have upped the ante on their 2GB Hello Kitty DAP by covering it in Swarovski Crystal and making it limited edition.
The crystals had better be stuck on tight of there'll be lots of handbags full of stray stones and some patchy looking players.
