Despite players being pocket sized and portable they don’t usually adhere to being pocket-proof and any unprotected outings result in at least the shell getting scrapes and scuffs with the threat of the screen one day taking a hit.
These Mofi carrying cases have just come to my attention so I’m going to have a look at what these soft, warm bags of fun have to offer after the break.

Material

The material is a plush fabric that on the outside has a velvety felt feel to it and a slightly softer material on the inside  for maximum player snugness.
It’s a genuinely touch-friendly material that is the kind that’s inviting to stroke at idle moments (which might not always look good if you’ve got it in your trouser pocket).
Despite being ultra-light, the material is thick which could help cushion a little any blows taken by an accidental drop.

Range - Colours and Size

These Mofi carry cases come in 6 colours, all of which are impressively tasteful.
There’s lime green, a nice earth-tone brown and a subtle grey which both remind me of Burmese cats - never a bad thing, a deep scarlet red, an orange that’s just muted enough to not be garish and a classic black.

Size-wise they come in medium, large, X-large and xxx-large sizes. I’ve tried all manner of players in an attempt to find an exception to the rule but they all fit snugly into their respective cases.

Quality

Fancying myself as a strongman I’ve tried and failed to rip these things apart but there was no budging and I’ve been left defeated.
The build is top notch - every one I’ve seen has been free from defects in material and the stitching is ultra-strong yet as it’s sewn on the inside it is barely noticeable as it runs up the sides of the case.
There’s little doubt these things will easily out-live your media player.

Usage

There are few technical aspects to this but the soft inner material lets your player glide in and out with ease.
The top is open to allow headphones out or USB charging and is fastened by a ball-clasp.

As you can see in the picture below the fastener is distinctive but discreet and does the job well - the player’s not going anywhere once it’s fastened.

Accessories

Packed inside each one is also a handy headphone winder to stop those irritating yet unavoidable tangles.
