Chinese PMPers Ainol are launching their V8000HD series under the banner of ‘Portable Visual Players’ (PVP) which offer H.264 HD video decoding, HDMI output and USB-HOST connectivity.
There’ll be three V8000HD PVPs to choose from, each with their own military-based name that sounds like it was handed out by the computer from Wargames.
The V8000HDG (Jetfire) has a 5 inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, the V8000HDB (Defcon) has a 4.3 inch 480 x 272 display while the V8000HDA (Metorplex) sports a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 touch display.
All three support H.264 (MPEG-AVC) and play MKV, MOV and MP4 videos as well as MP3, WMA and WAV audio.
The most exciting features on offer are the HDMI output ad the USB-HOST which will allow users to plug in USB cameras, phones and PDAs into the player. Could this docking be described as Aionol sex? Probably not.
