The kings of sticking it to the big boys Belkin have just released a solution to those pesky ‘Apple-only’ iPod Shuffles.
Salvation comes in the form of their ‘headphone adaptor’ which costs $19.99.

I got a better solution. Don’t buy a shuffle!
