Pacemaker Pocket DJ Version 3 for 2010

June 30, 2009 by Tom in PMP with No Comments.

Tonium's pocket DJ tool, Pacemaker, has had its third generation announced for 2010. Details are sketchy but Tonium's creative director Martin Renck announced number three as well as announcing at least two more software and firmware upgrades for existing Pacemaker owners this year. The Pacemaker allows users to pack its internal hard drive with music and then mix it on the move using the built-in DJ mixing tools such as a pitchshifter, loops and a crossfader. Plans for the far future could include integrating motion sensing but this more than likely won't be with the 2010 model.   [Via Stuff]

Teclast C500HD Aims to play HD and have HDMI Output

June 30, 2009 by Raz in Teclast with 1 Comment.

Teclast has announced their C500HD, what we are calling the wonder bread of media players, not only will it carry a high res 800x480, 5.0" screen, it will also be able to play H.264 videos, as well as support 720p for AVI and RMVB formats. Now this is not the first player that we have come across to announce HDMI output, Ainol announced one of their new upcoming players to also have this player and as is the nature of the China media player companies, most likely the C500HD will be based on the same SoChip media processor found on the new Ainol players. If we stand correct that this will use the same chip as the Ainol V6000HDS and Cube H100, then we can probably expect very good TV out quality and with the HDMI output we can expect it to be even better. However this new media chipset

Oakley’s T-Pain Split Thump MP3 Player That’s Good For Your Eyes

June 25, 2009 by Tom in PMP with 3 Comments.

Summer's here so it's time to crack out the old sunnies. If you're going to leave the silver wrap-arounds in the closet this year you can instead go for Oakley's T-Pain Split Thump MP3 Sunglasses. Handily the speakers detach to make them look semi-normal and the lenses are built with glare reduction and 100% UV protection. They're not much of a departure from their last model but carry the name and two tracks from US rapper T-Pain. These can of course be deleted and replaced with 1GB of your own music. They are 'available soon' and will cost US$329. Incidentally one loaded track, “Freeze”, features Chris Brown. Will he be sporting a pair while litter-collecting for community service this summer? Keep an eye on the gossip sites to find out.   [Via Chipchick & Oakley]
