Nationite OS-72HR – Facts and figures

4

The Nationite OS-72HR is in some of its final stages or preproduction, with just the complete hand sample needed to be sent to us from the factory before we confirm the go ahead for full production, i thought it would be a good time to lay down some facts and figures about our latest player.

Media Processor:

The OS-72HR utilizes the latest media processor by ChinaChips, the CC1600. ChinaChips is a company that has been in the media processor field for over a year and have come out with a steady line of powerful processors, most of which are powerful enough to run mini PCs. The CC1600 is a big leap from what previous media processors have been capable off (and we are not limiting the comparison to just media processors made homegrown in China but even many of the mainstream media processors that are commonly used). The 1600 figure within the CC1600 label is more of a relative comparison than a direct comparison to a 1.6gHz processor, its really just suggesting that the chip has some serious power, which it does. The CC1600 raised the bar for video playback, capable of a max video resolution support of 1280×720 along with high audio bit rate, makes the CC1600 chip one of the more capable media processors available.

Body design and material:

Sometimes the feel of cold hard metal can be a good thing. The OS-72HR entire body is a hard metal frame, which add to the overall stylish quality of the player.  The glass screen also adds to the high class feel, but it also serves as a more steardy barrier between the rest of the world and the high quality LTPS screen, more so than the standard plastic screens that are commonly used on similar players. However with use of such materials comes with additional weight, the player weighs in at about 280g, heavier than most similar players, but it is a well balanced and adds to the good feel of the player.

Screen:

The heavy metal body does protect some serious internal hardware. The most important being the high quality 4.3″ LTPS screen, capable of displaying an impressive 16million colors and just as impressive viewing angles. You will be hard pressed to find any reason not to fall in love with the screen, images are both vibrant and alive.  Videos and still images alike are simply jaw dropping beautiful on the OS-72HR screen.

Format compatibility:

The player can support a varied amount of file formats, for video the best supported are AVI and RMVb, support videos upto 1280 x 720 resolution. As much as we can talk about the CC1600 power, we must note that this does not mean you will not need to convert videos, in general you most likely will not need to convert your videos to get them to play on the OS-72HR (as long as they do not exceed the max playback resolution and are of a compatible file format), but sometimes videos are just made different that cause playback issues. With saying that it should be understood that the CC1600 chip provides for unprecedented video playback compatibility, allowing for even higher resolution video playback that ever seen by a China made processor.

The player also supports MP3, WMA, FLAC and APE audio formats and with the Cirrus logic DAC you will find that audio quality is quite good. The player also supports JPG and GIF image formats, again high resolution images look simply stunning on the high resolution LTPS screen.

TV Out and Remote:

The OS-73HR provides for both component and composite TV out, allowing for better quality TV out that

The Nationite OS-72HR will be out within the next few weeks, it is certainly to be a powerhouse of a video media player. The tentative pricing for this beauty of a player is $119.00 for the 8GB and $139.50 for the 16GB, this includes additional accessories and free shipping.
