Some of you may already be familiar with the Cube H100HD, the player uses a new high resolution video supported media chip, which not only will be able to support 1080i videos but also support 1080i video out, something that from short video reviews we have seen, may actually be true. Now the Cube H100HD claim to have super video playback is being shared by other brands also, but each have been quite hush hush on what media chip they are all using. Currently every one of these similar players that have been opened have had a different named media chip within them, the H100HD is no different either.

The Cube H100HD has a AHD1080 media processor at it core, what is this chip and who makes it, well there is no hard proof, but it is easy to assume its just a rebranded chip with each MP4 maker naming their very own media processor. Not sure why they are doing this, maybe they think their customer base won’t notice some so obvious. The Ainol V6000HDS uses the ‘Sochip’, the MSI M800 uses ‘Chiprise’ and now we have the H100HD using the ‘AHD1080′.
Well my assumption is, that this maybe the new Ingenic JZ4745 chip we have heard about and is just being rebranded to custom chip names for each MP4 maker. I think we will be seeing a bit of a rash of these rebranded chips coming out very soon.
