Ainol has announced another player to their alphabet soup line up of players, the V6000HDV, like the V6000HDS, the HDV will also use the same Sochip SC8600, whic will be capable of upto 1080i video resolution playback and even MKV support.
The only real difference between the HDV and HDS model is the screen size, the HDV will have a smaller 4.3″ screen, other than that the player will be almost identical to the existing HDS model.

As nice as it is to see players capable of doing better video playback, it is apparant that companies like Ainol care less for actually making their players more functional and utilizing the full potential of their media chips. So from us to Ainol, less players more functionality!

I hope this comes with the same LPTS screen of the V6000HDA. The screen on the V6000HDA is one of the best I have ever seen. Along with the Sochip processor, it will come close to being all that I need on a PMP. Of course, I would like OTG and touchscreen, but performance is in my book as supposed to functionality and user friendliness, the most important aspect of a PMP.

It also has a LTPS screen instead of a standard TFT…
