Oppo has announced their new S39 ‘HD’ player. The S39 looks to have a 4.3″ screen with a resolution of 800×480, much like the many other new ‘HD’ players. The S39 looks to be using the RK2806 media processor along with a Wolson audio DAC. The S39 also looks to be touch screen based, which if so, would make it the first confirmed player to use the RK2806 chip with touch screen ability. Oppo also seems to want to point out that the player will support H.264 video playback.
Oppo has been no stranger to producing some very nice looking players, but as of late they have been going out of the way to produce even better user interfaces. Hopefully the real UI will live upto the UI renderings on the images.
