RAmos ‘Terminator’ T12 takes a page out of Blackberrys book

t12

RAmos has announced their new line of ‘Terminator’ players (much like Ainol ‘Transformers’ line of players), the Terminator line looks to be using the new Rockchip RK2806 chipset, their newest generation of high resolution (1024×720 res) media chips.

The T12 will incorporate a thumb wheel, the sort that is commonly found on Blackberry devices,  which (we hope) if implemented correctly will give a better control over the user interface, even more so than the current touch screen MP4 players on the market. However at this point (and know how Chinese makers can be) its only speculative on how and what part of the UI the thumb wheel would control (god i hope its not just for volume!).

Te T12 also has some other very notable characteristic, it will have a 5.0″, 800 x 280 resolution screen, it will also have a Wolfson WM8988 DAC giving the T12 very good audio playback quality and it will also have high quality TV out.

The player has just been announced, but if it sticks true to how long normally a player is released after it is first announced, we can probably expect to see this puppy in stores by mid to late April.  As the RK2806 media chip is to rival the CC1600 chip (uses in Onda VX545HD), its fair to assume that the player will support 8GB, 16GB and possibly even 32GB of internal memory (along with an external memory card slot) and will probably be priced similarly to that of other CC1600 based players.
