Well not that this is to much of a shocker, but Onda is releasing a newer ‘version’ of the Onda VX767, the VX767L, this is the second reincarnation of the original VX767, previously we had the VX767LE, which was basically the same as the VX767, except the TV out was dropped in favour of dual audio ports. Now what does dropping the E from the LE mean, well it actually means pretty much a new player in the shell of the VX767.
Like the VX777LE, Onda has redone the player to run on the RK2706 chipset, so it will have all the standard characteristic of RK2706 player, but will also come with TV out and a FM transmitter. One downside to this move is that the JZ4740 chip which ran the VX767 and VX767LE was better for video, it could provide smoother playback for higher resolution movies. One one good note about the VX767L is that the RK2706 chipset provides for better audio quality, something which was a bit lacking on the VX767, also people will be able to easier theme the UI to their own liking.
No word on release (but most likely will be very soon) or pricing (expect it to be either the same price or cheaper than the current VX767).
