It seems Ainol’s Optimus Prime (V6000HDA) is making way for its second generation leader, Rodimus Prime (the V6000HDB)….i didn’t make that up, jump to the imp3 page and that’s how they are comparing the V6000HDA and the V6000HDB. I really don’t see how Opimus being killed by Megatron and the subsequent rise of Rodimus Prime has anything to do with MP4 Players, especially in this case, what i can tell you is that the V6000HDB is a budget version of the V6000HDA.
The V6000HDB will use the same powerful Ingenic/Chinachip 720p, which can actually play videos in a 720p resolution with little to no problem (i know i am still shocked at seeing a claim by a China chipmaker actually not being totally false). The V6000HDB will be dropping the high res 800×480 screen that is found on the V3000HD for a more conventional 480×272 LTPS screen.
I guess many people who don’t have the extra cash to splurge of the better screened V3000HD or the V6000HDA or any of the other HD MP4 players coming out, will jump at the chance to get this. You can probably expect this to be exactly similar to that of the V3000HD but with just a lower resolution screen. This player will be able to play a lot of audio formats and the audio quality will be quite good due to the Cirrus Logic DAC that is being used and as for video playback, well it can literally play most videos that are upto a 1280×720 resolution.
No release date as yet, but probably be out by mid Jan if not sooner and the 4GB will be about USD$60 in China.
