SmartQ Tao has been rife with speculation for what main chip it would be using, initally the reports seems that it may use the same Samsung ARM chip that is to be used on the Meizu M8. It has now been confirmaed that the player will stick to the same ADI Blackfin chip used in the SmartQ T5-II, the ADI Blackfin BF547 chip.

This is actually not a big suprise, SmartQ is one of the very few MP4 player manufacturers to still favor using the more expensive American chipset, instead of the more commonly used Ingenic and Rockchip chipsets. The second generation Blackfin chip does have some serious power, so it will be well suited on a 3.3″ touch screen (with a screen res of 480*320).
Well this does look like one juicy little player. especially with SmartQs habit of making very nice looking user interfaces, you can be sure that this will certainly be one interesting player.
