SmartQ has announced a slightly downgraded, but cheaper priced, version of their ever popular SmartQ T5-II, dubbed the SmartQ T5-II LE, the player will only be missing the TV Out feature, apart from that, the player will use the same ADI chip and all other hardware and software (read emulation) capabiltiies. However the biggest difference between the two versions is in price, the LE will be priced almost RMB$200, about USD$30 cheaper than its TV Out touting counterpart.
Although it isn’t confirmed we also think that the LE probably won’t support SmartQs wireless gamepad controller when it comes out, seeing how the wireless countroller was intended to be used in conjunction with the TV out, it would be pretty pointless to keep the wireless feature on a non tv out version. However if that is true, then it would make a lot more sense as to why there is a big price drop between the two models - lets face it, it actually doesn’t cost more than a few dollars for a TV Out chip, not $30.
Check back on MP4 Nation at a later time, we will be stocking these when they come out.
