RAmos annouced about a week back that they would be adding a new player to their catalog, the T8 iMovie. The first renderings were balked at by many as being just images from a previous Apple iPod advert that had been editied. Today RAmos released the first front and side rendering of their new player. The player will be based on the Rockchip RK2706 chipset, which has to now, proven quite capable of handling a touch screen interface.
This Nationite is quite impressed, this player will only be about 10mm thick, have TV out, and have a native screen resolution of 480×272. As for file format support and playback, expect it to perform on the same level as any other RK2706 based chip player, capable of playing variety of standard audio formats along with lossless formats and capable of playing hi resolution AVi, RMVB and FLV videos without the need for conversion.
Most likely the player will feature a resistive touch screen rather than a capacitive touch screen, like that found on a iPod Touch. We can only hope RAmos tries for a capacitive touch screen and uses it to make better interactive touch screen interface, like that of the Nationite S:Flo/Teclast T50, which also is based on a RK2706 chip.
No firm release date or price has been given, but knowing RAmos production times from when they first start to leak promo picks like this, expect this player to be out by end of July, start of August, probably in time to compete with Ondas 4.3″ Touch screen Wifi player that is scheduled to be released around that time also.
